Even though she tried to be a devout Muslim, when the time came to send her daughter to preschool, Nour chose to send Hadil to a Christian school. She knew the academic standards were high, and she appreciated the moral and ethical climate of the school.
However, she was concerned about what the Chaplain would be telling Hadil during the weekly chapels and Bible studies. Nour decided to check out the weekly chapels for herself just to make sure that the Christians were not speaking against the Prophet Mohammed or trying to force Hadil to deny Islam. Every Wednesday, she sat at the back of the chapel and listened to what the teachers said.
She was surprised that they never mentioned the Prophet at all. Instead, they told the children about Jesus and told them that Jesus loves them and cares for them. In spite of her reservations, Nour found herself looking forward to these Wednesday morning chapels and to the talks she sometimes had with the Chaplain afterwards. What she was hearing made sense.
And over the course of the year, Nour realized that she believed and gave her heart completely to the Lord!
Prayer Requests:
- Cry Out for Nour to grow in her relationship with Jesus and be a bold witness to her friends and family
- Cry Out that many more parents like Nour will visit Chapel services at their children's schools; pray that God opens their eyes and ears to see, hear, and respond to the Truth alongside their children.
- Cry Out that God will make Christian schools fertile seedbeds for the Gospel to take root and spread among entire families in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq.
