Zeina is barren. As the third wife, her purpose was simply to produce sons, but because she had not been able to have children, her husband treated her very badly. When the village women gathered together, Zeina always looked very sad, but the worker sensed that God was at work in her heart.
With the income generating project the worker runs in that village, she gets the chance to visit ladies in their homes. One day, the worker had the opportunity to visit Zeina privately in her room; she prayed for her and offered her some literature which she took gladly. She also brought Zeina some small pieces of work to do, which made her very happy. She said, “You are the first person who trusts me to do something well.”
Because of the project, the worker was able to visit Zeina regularly, and they started to read some short basic Biblical lessons. And then the husband sent Zeina away, back to her family. She still works on the project, and the worker can talk with her to encourage her, but she does not yet have the freedom to pick up the Bible lessons.
Cry Out for Zeina, that she would know the love and acceptance of Jesus Christ and that she would allow him to heal the wounds caused by her husband’s rejection. May she blossom like a flower in that desert and find rest in the arms of Jesus.
