Summer in the Near East

8/8/2016

Summer months are known for heat, holiday and short term teams.
Over the last three months, thousands of people - young and old - men and women - students and professionals - have flooded the streets of nations influenced by the Syrian Refugee Crisis.
Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, as well as different nations in Europe, have seen short termers come to their lands to love, help, support, encourage and serve in different ways.

Rejoice with us for what they have seen and experienced:
  • Praise God for all the families that have never known believers; inviting strangers into their homes for tea and hearing stories of Jesus.
  • Praise God for the many stories of people receiving prayer and seeing miracles as visitors prayed.
  • Praise God for the seeds that have been sown and lives that have been changed!

Pray with us for the fruit of these labors:
  • Pray that the ground that has been tilled, the seed that have been sown, the water that has been given, will grow deep roots and bear much fruit.
  • Pray for follow-up activities to take place with those that have been open and have experienced God. Pray for wise follow-up, with the right families in the right ways that the seeds, as they grow, will be cultivated.
  • Pray for all these short-term visitors, that they will hear God’s call for long term commitments. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.  Pray that many of these short-term workers will be challenged by the need, hear what God is calling them into and respond with a resounding YES!
  • And please pray for the local workers, both local and foreigners serving in these nations. Pray that as things wind down during August, that they will have time of rest, restoration, and receiving new vision and strategy for the year ahead.
